The Childcare Voucher scheme enables working parents to claim vouchers by way of a salary sacrifice. The minimum scheme participation is one member of staff and provides savings for both the employer and employee.
Employee takes £243 in Child Care Vouchers which are tax and NI free and therefore a 32% saving (20% tax 12% NI)
(243/100) x 32 = £77.76 (saving per month)
77.76 x 12 = £933.12 (saving per annum in tax and NI contributions)
As an employee you make a 32% saving on a cost that you would have to otherwise pay.
