our new Toddler Suite
“Encouraging confidence and independence with lots of learning and fun!”
We recognise that as your child begins to project their individual personality, it is our role to support them to blossom. Our purpose-built Toddler Suite provides an exciting and spacious environment for your child, from the age of 18 months to 3 years old.
Through following your child’s interests, we work with you as parents to nurture their distinctive character, developing their learning through fun.
We understand that speaking and listening is a key development milestone at this age, which is why this room has been designed to provide a haven of communication.
We have live fish so the children can learn how to look after living animals in their environment. We often have visits from Zoo Lab and sometimes staff members or parents bring their pets to Nursery.
During group times the children learn many skills, such as phonics (learning letter sounds), turn taking, counting / number recognition, listening skills, ICT and extending their learning of current interests through video clips or interactive games.
Celebrations such as Halloween, Christmas, Diwali, Eid and Chinese New Year are encouraged and celebrated using all the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. When preparing for Chinese New Year celebrations for instance, children are encouraged to taste Chinese food, make dragons and snakes etc. The children watch clips of Chinese dragon dancing, painted Chinese symbols for horse and numbers and learn how to spot China on a map.
Our colourful, welcoming garden is dressed with a child friendly bright safe, all-weather surface. The garden is used to provide fun, exciting activities and a wealth of new learning experiences for all children from babies up to school age.
Our garden is used in all weathers, rain or shine. It extends the way children build their physical strength by facilitating a range of interesting resources, messy activities, obstacle courses and many more. Children access the outdoors at all times through our free flow system. Playing outdoors after dark can be very exciting for children giving them the freedom to explore and use their senses. It also helps them to develop not just physically but mentally as well.
